it's more of curiosity dan hobby to me. i breed to get new colours, get break throughs. used to breed standard colours until i got tired of it cos last time work in BK c until sian.

For me if I were to breed it is to increase the quality of fish that I am having. For example spawning red hm is to try to get even redder fish. Thats all. As for money, to me I think it is much of a secondary phase.

well i haven't had any spawns yet but why im breeding bettas i becuase i want to see what their offspring would be betweeen the two genes. And to be honest when im in debt of money i would breed bettas to sell them.

cuz everytime i spawn my bettas, i get the *song*song* feeling. But everytime my fries die on me, i get the *wakao* feeling.
But everytime after that when i get my pay and decide to buy more breeders, i get the *oh YES* feeling.

for me its really just a hobby and like any hobby you wanna move on to more interesting things instead of just buying bettas and keeping them. breeding them would be a new level for all betta lovers and the mystery of how the offsprings will look like is enough attraction to make us breed them!

It is a hobby. I am curious about fishes. Besides knowing how to keep fishes alive and healthy, to fully understand the fish, need to breed them, then I can brag about it ! hehe.
I would think many fish hobbyists want to be able to breed fish, especially those fishes that are hard to breed or never known to breed in captivity.

I don't think I make money selling bettas because my water bills, food money, investments in stock fishes when add up seems like will not break even.
