The temperature not going to reduce much if the fan is enclosed inside the cabinet. The relative humidity of the air will rise until it becomes saturated and very little water will evaporate.
If you want to use fans, you will have to use it where the high RH% air can escape.

i tried installing an ac fan in the sump before but no difference. then i try installing 2 ac fan at the main tank, it brought the temperature down by 2 degree. however, like what others say is true. you'll have to top up water everyday. btw, the tank i tried on is 3x1.5x1.5.

Use the fan as an interin and live with the inconvenience of topping up water daily until save enough $ to look for a chiller.
You never know how useful a chiller is until you own one.

Hi bros, I got question about chiller.
Will chiller cause the area where you place it to be hot? I wnet to the LFS and find out that the area where they placed the chiller are rather hot.
Will it take up a lot of energy power? I mean will the electric meter runs like when air-conditional was switch on?
Is it noisy?
I know that maybe different brands will have different answer, could you share yours? Thanks a lot to all. :D

I'm now using a RESUN CL 650 for my 24L x 20H x 18W marine tank and let me tell u, its superb, really!!!
It only has noise during re-cooling, if not, ok one.
Used for 8 months already, very good product, I love it!
As much as I love Ehiem!
I used to think made in China sure roughly made one, but its not, its very finely made lor.
Try use it bro Tansh.

I wont say it's bad, rather i would say it's not really tat good.
like wat heroluvdisc said, there's a bit of noise during cut in, but it's quite negligible.

all chillers will produce heat. :)
it will consume quite a lot of electricity. it works quite similar 2 ur fridge, except tat ur fridge does not cut in tat often n long.
noise wise, some r n some r not. IMO(i might b wrong on tis), more expensive, more silent.
here i would like 2 share wif u guys something...
a resun cl-650 rated at 1/4 hp has a wattage of 650w. my pacific coo rated at 1/2 hp has a wattage of oni 450w.
lastly, i would like 2 advise all 2 do some survey on chillers b 4 buying. some, however, r not rated accordingly in terms of HP. some will state it's a 1.25hp but it's actually oni a 1hp. tis is true.
