Yo bros,

Situation
I am definitely very green wif equipment so need some advice.
I had been using a cheap protein skimmer (ard $8) for quite some time. Was with my old 2ft tank then transfer to my existing 4ft.

It is those type that you need to stick it to the tank wall and it have a cup on top to collect the 'dirty stuff'.

Problem
The skimmer kept falling into the water!

No matter how hard my dad and I tried to secure it, it simply got loose in a couple of days and fall again, and of course, the precious 'collection' will go back to the tank... :(

Thus, is there actually a better type of skimmer that wont give such problem? Please provide me with the brand and model, if applicable.

Thanks ah!!!!

What's the budget like?

There are a few hang-on skimmers that maybe suitable for you, like Weipro,Jebo for the cheaper ones. They sure work better than airpump ones.

1 way is tat u can replace the sucker. u can easily replace by those used 4 perspex partition which is very popular during the LH era.
however, the type of skimmer is far 2 small 4 a 4ft tk.

They inject air through a pump or powerhead.

There are some powerheads built with a tube for airpump, those kind can be used. For the Weipro, they have an airtube for the inlet pipe, so not necessary for the powerhead to have an air inlet.

Not really very sure about those more advance skimmer yet, but they work by injecting air via the pump if i'm not wrong.
