is it good camera ?
Just my personal opinion:
1. The closest possible is 22 cm of this one. I think if you want to take detailed shot, it's not enough.
2. I had bad experience on Kodak DX4800. Don't know they improved it or not. It's CCD got defect spots which will become remarkable under dark environment.
So, it depends on what special deal you are offered. Here in TW, the list price for 3500 is NTD20900 (~SD1000). If much cheaper then this, it's a good deal, otherwise.......

CDM can you take the pic like the maximum kodak DX3500 can do ? (I am not insist :) )
and what type of camera do you recommend for about $350 ?
thanks
Ok, I just asked the street price of DX3500 is ~$500, so, if you mean the special offer is $350, then I think you should go for it, the CP ratio is very high.

that why I call it special offer coz its only cost less than $190 (the actual is $425) with 1 year warrant and its new not second hand ! and I already check in all media that DX 3500 is in special discount . what do you think ?
<190!!!  I think DX3500 has no competitor at this price with the same functions (even with less function ones). At this price, I can even ignore the dead spots (7 points total) of my DC4800's CCD as demoed in the pic (with screen resolution):

I check in the web site , the price more higher but more better service i think
see this link (http://bhinneka.com/Engine/detail.asp?i=7370) what do you think ? its about $217
The price difference is not much, so it depends on yourself. My Kodak DC4800 need no service since I bought it (2.5 yrs). The camera is quite stable (hardy), unless you drop it bad or dip it into water. Another potential failure would be the CCD, it has a life time, but no one (manufacture) would release the data. And, so far, I don't see any report on this issue.
