Do not remove the bracing!

If you try to remove the bracing when its full load .. you risk having the tank leaking. Side bracing is meant for holding the edges of the tank by providing more silicone contact surface. Removing the brace will result in weakening of the tank and cause the joints to tear.

Here I am counting on my tank bracing to hold the glass together (about to leak) and there you are removing it.
Dont ever remove any bracings. It would only weaken the tank. Imagine you have an MH which is fixed on the ceiling supported by 2 large screws, and you remove 1 screw. The MH would not immediately fall, but the support is weakened.

It is there to support the tank so if it no use where isit there bro remove at ur own risk.:)

No doubt you got 4, the main point is, removing 1 will weaken the structure like what barracuda has mentioned and it can(or will) lead to a leak.

If i'm not wrong, the bracings are supposed to "work together" and hold the tank walls. Removing one would weaken the overall structure of the tank.

DO NOT REMOVE IT!

Worst case is the tank will open up.

If u already have a tank that is warping, even if u silicon back, its useless.

If no choice need to do it, u want to resilicon back yrself...drain out all the water in tank to ensure no pressure on joint & silicon the bracing back. Give it at least 24hr to cure. Pls, dun use silicon u buy from DIY shop. They are for general purpose. Use at least indusrial grade or best professional grade. U also need a couple of big clamps to hold.

Never under estimate the euro-bracing.

Cheers!

If you haven't removed the bracing, why not follow the earlier suggestion of finding the extension instead of having to go through so much trouble?

I think once its weakened its weakened. Whats the use of taking it out then silicon it back again. There are alot of ways to solve problems. I would suggest you go get the extension for your ibox someone was saying earlier.

Well hope you learnt your lesson from this, never mess around with your tank structure.
