are you from singapore?

anyway hikari frozen worms would do fine. you may want to try pellets or flakes, or frozen brineshrimp but once they tasted frozen bloodworms they dun like to eat other stuff...

and they didnt like them at all. when i feed them the bloodworms they ate like there was no tomarrow.

is there anything i could feed them to enhance their color?

basically if they have almond leaves in their tank, giving them the soft acidic water or blackwater they tend to really blossom. but they are would really simply show their true color by normal feeding and regular flaring. flaring is when the color all comes out.

Hi, i think black water extract works as well as the real thing. Just buy a bottle and save going to pick up leaves lah. But all the "unknown" properties of the real ketapang leaves eg. medicinal etc. cannot be mimicked by blackwater extract.

However, the adding of blackwater extract did calm down one of the bettas which i recently brought in and made it blow lotsa bubbles. So give it a try...i used tetra blackwater extract. because i bought and never used bfore so decided to try it out.

Normal feeding would do fine for these fishes. bloodworms.

Thank Bettarascal.

everyone including tltan

please note this.

Blackwater can burn the ventrals. dun think you hear this from anywhere else. a top breeder told me this.

bettarascal has direct experience. up to you to believe or not.

i have a spawn partially no ventral maybe coz of that but i didnt use much la.

its quite jialat. nice fishes without ventral fins.
i never believe in using black water extract, its more of a lazy alternative to ketapang leaves. never trust whats written on the bottle, you may not know wad has been added to the extract.

i have no topclass advisors, nor do i read any websites, i do things the traditional, ahpek's way.
so top breeder's and ahpek's advices both proves the same point. believe it or not, its up to u.:)

ventrals is the 2 dangling things.hehe
it is the 2 fins below the cheek or gills of the fish.

its not a matter whether they keep the advice or not. for me, its a learning process, and i know many people who just started will encounter such problems gradually. Anyway, use blackwater or not is really up to the person also.
for me, its the good old ketapang leaves that i trust. i know people will say busy cannot go pick leaves, i myself also rather busy these few months, but its just good to make an effort to go collect the leaves. or maybe i am just another bettafreak.
