well... for now i do not have a digital camera, so i am not able to take pics of my case, i am sorry..
my arowana, after a jump out of the tank
suffered broken fins and such
but this is not my main worry

my main worry is there are reddish lumps growing out of my arowana's scales
much like open sores.
after the jump, my aro suffered bleeding under the scales, i think this is wad happen. one side has recovered, but the other has develop into the 'open sores'
would appreciate some help... kinda worried...:( :( :(

Hi Yuna!

Please give us some more details about your aro. Consider reviewing the article on this board: Approaching a case (http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31086) to better diagnose your aro.

Thanks bro!

yeah Yuna, we're not able to give the best advice without much background info. mayb it's the water which triggered it. mayb it's something infectious...mayb there's something else which requires more attention( breathing problems, cloudy eye etc)
just follow the list on that thread. it's a guide-line to help u approach a case...u'll b surprised how much more u'll know after actually doing it n covering all aspects from all angles... keep us posted on your findings bro. u're now the fish doc... it all depends on how much u want to help your fish.:D :D

well, what do u reckon emps?
just a simple trauma with possible secondary complication?

Yuna, thanks for the brief history. did u do a physical exam? checked it's breathing? ok? still eating? stuff like that.....it can b quite important bro. we don't want to focus too much on the skin n fins, n forget to look at the fish as a whole... it might b suffering from something more serious...

here's what i would do:

1) water change. just in case...u didn't tell us much about water parameters... do a 30-40% change...

2) add aquarium salt ( a generous tablespoon every 10L of water). don't over do it.

3) cover the tank!

4) some melafix if u have access to.....it's been shown to speed up healing

well, if u tell us more about the wounds, describe them etc, it'll give us a better idea of the condition of your aro. but since it's gettin better etc, probably it'll b alright. in severe cases, u might require salt dips, antibiotic injections n even topical tx.....
