Guys,

I did a 50% water change. Added some salt and anti-chlorine. Now my aro is restless. It kept at the end of the tank and it seams that it wants to get to the other side of the tank.

Then I did a 30% water change thinking that there might be some problem with my water. Also added some black water extract to calm the fish.

My aro is still behaving strangely.

Please help.

Hi XRTG!

Sorry to hear about your aro. Well, I assume that you are new to all of these (meaning fish keeping and maintenance)? Firstly, it isn't healthy, actually mostly fatal to your tank's life forms to change the water at the rate you did. If I understood your statement, you said, you changed 50% of your water and then later on within the same day you replaced 30% again? 15%-30% should suffice, provided your water parameters aren't goin' haywire.

Stress maybe hitting your aro but we don't know that yet. You also need to conduct a checkup to see whether there are other problems that arose, aside from this behavioral issue. I would really suggest and recommend to read and go over the article in this board: Approaching a case (http://arofanatics.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31086). Try to fill out the checklist, as much as you can and let us know.

For now, you're going to need test kits for ammonia, nitrite, and Ph. You need to make sure that ammonia and nitrite levels are zero and that Ph isn't extremely high (< 8) or extremely low (>6). Your tank's temp should just be within 26-29C. Let your aro be alone for now. There's no need to touch his tank or do any maintenance until we've confirmed that your aro's just stressed and not something else.

Goodluck and let us know man!

Thanks. I think he is stressed.

I added another pump and left it alone for one night. After that he is ok.

Thanks a million.:)
