Anal Fin Slightly Damaged - Help needed!!!

Hi aromedics,

Please help! Out of a sudden found that my RTG has its anal fin damaged. How can I prevent further complication to this situation?

Possible cause:
1) Bitten by PNT?
2) Self inflicted (Tail Biting)?

Your comments and advices are greatly appreciated.

looks like a clean wound.

u could try doing a 30-40% water change, and add some aquarium salt ( a generous table-spoon full per 10L).
melafix might help but it's not available in Singapore at the moment..??...

Is it still eating?
any skin lesions?
swimming ok?
what about water parameters?

ensure that these r all ok, n it should heal up rapidly.
obviously, try to prevent further trauma....seperate the pnt?

Thanks for your advise.
Already have the PNT separated and has done the exact things you mentioned - water change and added salt. The only thing is not administrated any medication as I think it is not as serious as internal parasite attack.

It is still eating and swim normally. No skin lesions from my observation. Check PH level and found it to be at about 4.5 to 5.0 Anyway, had 50% water change over 2 days (reduce to half tank and only top up to 75% on 1st day and again top up to 90% on 2nd day)

I am only worry about the wound. Though it's clean wound. Will the fin grow back to its usual shape? How long will the healing process takes to have it fully recovered?

This is my first encounter with fin damage problem and any brothers have overcome this issue are well come to comment.
