raised scales

i just noticed that the scales on my fish's left side is slightly raised, giving it a 'chainmail armour' look. The right side seems fine, though - that's how i discovered the problem, by the seeing the contrast between the sides.

also, i noticed a little bit of white mucus-like substance on small parts of the fish scales...

what should i do?
