Hi Aromedics, pls help and advise...

I checked all the forum, nothing about this issue, so just post a new forum for your advise...

Nothing special, just something common...

Case :- Recently, my Aro goes for "Hunger Strike", it has not been eating for almost 2 weeks... I already had the water changed twice, added "Geo liquid" to stablilize the water and increase its appetite... thot by starving it for a short period, the hunger for food will come back, but still as usual, it start worrying me and thus seeking for your attention and help... It still very active, swim around the tank as usual. A parrot fish as tank mate, also active, but its appetite also drop slightly, but still it... Hope i make my situation clear for you to advise...

Caused by :- maybe due to overfeeding of food(super worm), not 'live', already put the worm to die before feeding the Aro.

Pls advise what is the problem and the medication action to be taken...

Dun worry, if your aro is swimming around happy and no signs of disease or sickness. The aro just decides not to eat it's usual food, try something different like frogs or market prawn.

My 14 inch aro ever go on hunger strike for 1 month. The last one was 2 weeks.

check your water parameters mate.
:D :D
and keep up with water changes n a bit of salt.
have u tried increasing the temp?

it's most likely one of those things that happen to aros. they seem to stop eating for a while for whatever reason.
u basically need to support your fish during this period, when it's more susceptible to diseases. and at the same time, try to identify any possible stress factors in the environment, n eliminate it.:D

U may try to tempt it with frogs or crikets & watch whether it will eat. I used to give my aro superworms & live shrimps, but found my aro not eating at time. Now I had taken live shrimps out of his diet & fed only bullfrogs & sw. If my aro don't eat frog, I will offer sw, & vice versa. Normally I fed frog in the morning & sw in the night. To prevent aro getting addicted to sw, I frozen them in my freezer. Learnt the "trick" from emps. So far, my aro has not go hungry on a single day, though recently it seem a bit frighten of bullfrog & stop eating them again!.:(
