Steel female with melano genes..

It looks like a melano female to me...:confused: :confused:

dude..that's not a steel melano geno female, it's a melano female (note the black fins). Not fertile. A steel female with melano genes would look like a normal steel female. Nice though.:D

I cannot say for sure if they are fertile. I have spawned melano females before. I sold one to another friend and his spawned too. It also depends on what genes they carry.
btw I also have melano females that lay eggs and did not hatch.

I normally dun give comment, but perhaps some frank comment would be helpful...

yeap it is melano, many of which not fertile, can try out but be prepare eggs not hatch....

The finnage from the picture is ok, but not to the extend to consider good yet.

what do you mean "what genes they carry" ? Aren't all melano females just that; melano? They're homozygous for melano. So if you were to breed melano x melano you would get 100% melano right?

bro i did a steel x steel and i got steel and royal blue in the same spawn. work that out :)

The first time I spawned a melano X melano, I got melano, steel and white!!. I kept them in my house for interest sake. Still around. I don't know what lineage they are from as I got them from Thailand. Unless you know the lineage, you cannot be sure what comes out.

perhaps, one of the parents wasn't actually steel, but a royal mistaken for a steel. You see steel x royal would be 75% steel and 25% royal I think. But if that wasn't the case, then I can't explain. Did experience something like that. I spawned melano x steel and get melano, steel, and green!:eek:

very interesting, I have a spawn with simular result; steel bf x steel bf (both melano geno) see in my gallery, I got steel bf, white:eek: , and melano. So confused....

Hmmm,bk told me it was a steel female,i think the lighting had something to do with it,becos when i see the fish in actual it was steel in colour..BUt anyway thx 4 the comments every1 had given me,i will take it seriously,THANK YOU..
