I think we should start with your water. You really need to test it for PH,ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.
Let me just add Melafix is for bacteria, Pimafix is for fungus. Naladin from Aquatronics. http://www.aquatronicsonline.com/product/product3.htm All are pretty much the "safest" meds you can get. Those are good for fungus By your descriptions it does sound like a fungus as you said... frequent (as in daily) water changes of around 25% would be beneficial |

Sounds like your PH just crashed. Did you check your PH? If you do not have a test kit, then go to the minimart and buy Bicarbonate of Soda and dump in one teaspoon for every foot of tank.

This is due to the water quality. Your water now is too acidic for gf. According to my personal experience, just simply do the following: 1. Perform a 80% - 100% WC immediately. 2. Thoroughly wash the mechanical part of your filter media. 3. If your fish tank is a 3 footer, add at least 12 tea spoon (those 5ml spoon) of salt to your tank water. 4. Switch on your filter and aeration. 5. Stop feeding for 2 days. Just relax and carry on with your normal work/study. Normally, your gf should start swimming actively the next day onwards. Do your WC at least once per week. If your fish have this problem frequently, that shows that your tank has too heavy bio load and you need to do more frequent WC. It will be better for you to reduce bio load, i.e. to reduce the no. of gf in your tank. Otherwise you will be very busy in solving this problem or maybe other illness! Don't let the bio load problems affect your study in NTU bro. Happy fish keeping! Happy Studying! :) |

Its not a disease so no need to clean your tank. |
