Hi,

By placing it at the last compartment it will be much cleaner in the filter itself as i understand that most of us will have wool or other machnical media that is being placed in the first compartment that will first trapped most of the debris and waste or even fine particles from the main tank.

Therefore is will be advisable to place it at the last compartment to prolong the maintenance of Hydra filter from cleaning the prefilter or the impeller. :)

I will say yes and no as we have to observe the flow rate and the head lost when using it as a return pump. As Hydra filter when first being design, it was design to be use as an internal filter which might have compromise the height max.

Therefore if it is being use as an return pump, it might not have a effective return flow rate compare to a submersible pump which is design to do the job.

Thanks for your prompt response. May I know is there a lifespan of this filter or how we know when we need to replace any parts?

Hi, the life span of the cata pure media is approximately 12 months. It is advisable to change it once the time frame is up. :)

Hoping QH can share heads up on plans for a larger capacity unit eg specifics on actual capacity and product release timeframe. It will be a very compelling purchase for hobbyists with larger tanks and comm set up etc.

Thumbs up for the innovation !
