Water drips from air cond condenser

My neighbour downstairs complaints that the water from my condenser drips onto his. I spoke with my installer (less than 1 yr old air cond system) and he told me that it is normal and nothing he can do about it.

Google and found this - It is normal for water to drip from the condenser as condensation takes places when the warm air surrounds the piping condensate.

Do you face the same problem? I know it is a no no to install tray below due to mosquito breeding issue.

Pls share.

My condenser is on the ceiling of my yard. I install the steel tray at an angle that the dripping will come to a corner and drip off the tray.

Not comfortable with the tray as it is something I can't monitor as I live in old HDB flat.

Yes. If condenser is outdoor and high floor then not advisable. Maybe u can ask your air-con maintenance guy for advice.

From my exp also nothing can be done unless there is a drip tray the FCU is in the carpark dripping onto cars back then at my workplace. When those jokers complain about it I will tell them off nobody ask you to park under my FCU condenser right if car not waterproof why drive outside keep at home.

Don't understand the problem, condenser drip onto condenser got complain?

globalcookie 21-07-2016 07:59 PM

The possible problem is "tok tok tok" when you sleep.

If it's due to noise, it is understandable. Either find a way to divert the drips away or, give them a mat to place on top of their condenser. This can soften the dripping sound.
