Success with forced pairing?
anybody here has has success with putting 2 arowanas of know sex into a tank and hoping they pair up?
I have a male in my tank, planning to move one of my females from my pond to hopefully pair with him. not sure though if it can work or i'm just gonna give myself a headache . by the way my Males tail has not yet been bitten by any aro. haha he has been on his own for 5-6 years. |
Think might have better chance if both go into new environment.
In the past i ever tried to put 2 together successfully ( gender unknown, had to put as no enough space ) What i did was, i put the aro in existing tank into bag, i changed 50% water and reintroduced both fishes back into the tank at the same time. They did fight abit, take nips at each other's tails. But eventually i was lucky they managed to sort of co-exist. This kind of thing best to be closely monitored as if they fight, could be deadly. |
