I personally won't try. They might try to swallow one. CLs have switchblades by their cheeks. :D

Hi to all,

I am very new to cl, therefore need to find out more on them before I get some of them.

1) can the comm with tigers (8"), EBH(4"), ff(7") and Aro(18").
2) are their bio-load high?
3) Is cl hardy?

Thanks

1. Big CL can.
2. BL considered low-medium.
3. CL quite susceptible to white spot, especially during lower temp. Also may catch skinny disease, then need to deworm.

just curious.. how to deworm CL?

Will feeding them garlic pellets work?

big size is a size big enough that your aro won't try to swallow. you want to avoid the scenario where your aro swallows your CL and chokes in the process. as i have mentioned earlier, CLs have spines under its eyes which it can use as defense mechanism.

i just keep mine at room temperature and they haven't got a problem with it.

i personally don't deworm my fish unless the fish is showing signs of internal parasites or if the fish is wild caught. all fishes live with parasites in them their entire life unaffected.

Guess CLs are comfy around 28deg. 30deg is for treatment of white spot to help hasten the lifecycle of the itch. Other than that, consideration would be that higher temp means less dissolved oxygen. Oh, and white spots spreads like bushfire. Even by contact, and your hand then dips into another clean tank, the itch may spread as such.

Personally, 5-6" should be considered mid-sized, while >8" is large, considering that there are CLs that lived till 1ft and more.

I have used miracle bb (mq3 or 4, can't remember) to deworm CLs with success.

its MQ4 to deworm.
