How long does your new catfish fast?

I bought a Lima cat recently and it doesn't eat anything. Tried mp, live ghost shrimp and silver fish as recommended.

3rd week already although its still active.:(

How big is it? I bought giraffe Catfish and it didn't eat until the 2nd day. I throw sinking pellets

burntrubber 20-06-2017 12:32 PM

6 inch. It doesn't eat pellets either. The ghost shrimp are useful scavengers. Maybe I'll try guppies next. I hate the idea of feeding live food though.

these big catfish usually cant resist ghost shrimps and frozen bloodworm.

Usually they will gorge until there is a tummy. But this guy is still like patricia mok. Might go buy bloodworms later.

Hahahahaha okok better feed it!! Keep trying Lor, or You got too many other fast eating fishes then Catfish no chance.

burntrubber 21-06-2017 01:51 PM

Last night tried MP again in the dark when I got up to pee. No chance.
Patricia is still as slim this morning.
The competition are 3 jaguar cats, very relaxed slow feeders so Pat could get to the food first if it wanted to. The other fish are too small.

ok lets get back to basics then, why isn't your catfish not eating!

hows your PH /Ammonia treating PAt! not stable due to many reasons, lightings, water.

weeks really long time bro, does it hve sunken belly? that might be a problem! :(

Probably u can setup a separate tank to monitor it, if it got internal parasite then need medical treatment.
