Finally we have come to a close to the 17th Edition which was halfway disrupted by the database corruption. Then again, we welcome back the resident expert, bro Lobsterman, back to the fray. We can only expect more fruitful discussion to come. :p

That's a cute C.Sp (Orange) you have.
Looks like the redclaw had a big fight loosing part of it's claw, before your colleague caught it.

the website mention abit on taking care of cherax. is it applicable to the orange i got?? difficult to find how to take care of orange cherax as the internet got limited info.........haizzzzz i can fore see myself spending lots of money in this new hobby haa haa haa

Most of these Cherax sp. originate from indonesian/australian region. I'm just guessing that our water temp is just a little high for them. Most I've read is to have between 20/22-26/28degC regions. Not sure if any cray keepers is willing to invest in chillers to determine so. So far, bigger LFS do have their water slightly chilled, thus able to sustain them in their tank for that long. (but maybe I'm wrong)

hmmm is a chiller very exp? troublesome? noisy? eat alot of electricity?

I've not gone to that extend yet, since my environment doesn't really cater I've not even tried rearing those species. (need to get CO permission for more tanks...haha)
