New thread, time to post some pics. Haven't had an interesting shipment come in for sometime already no choice pics of same bichirs.

Lap, still refuses to fully flare, suspect has been injured bad enough to be unable to do it. Since only his first 3 fins come up.

Indo PBB, been moved to my main tank due to his monstrous gowth. Already bigger then more then half of the bichirs in my main tank:eek:

Del, since the move of my indo pbb, he has been very active coming out finally to let me take some shots.

Haha, see how lah bro, trying to pump him now since the indo pbb move hse but he is a small fussy eater. Think really take 1 yr before he can move.:o

moo2 21-07-2011 07:36 AM

WOW the Del really swee... I like the full bands and yellow highlights.

Quick question, is it normal for Laps to be doing that? My del, endli, lap and polli all bought at the same time and ard the same size but the Lap is now almost twice the size as the del.

You need a 15" del in your lower jaw tank. Your small one should go into my tank. :)

Thanks bro. I have no worries about the zap. It's just that I don't want people to think that I am belittling your lapradei! In fact, I have a piece from the same batch! :o

Indeed The term fits for a lap with features similar of pbb.
Just gave u back 3 rep. Anyway they don't mean anything .

Thanks for the upzz bro. Btw, some people were asking me about these laps with PBB head. They are just nigerian laps with different headshape. Just to share, there were not many that came in, 5pcs to be exact but Daniel only got 4pcs, the other piece was sold to an unknown person. Bro nid, myself and ZhenXiang has one each. The remaining one piece is in Daniel's display tank. :)

TuNA 21-07-2011 03:33 PM

I wonder if that last piece is for sale ?

I don't know.. Gotta ask him! Maybe how it turns out when it is an adult? Bichirs do change as they grow.. For example, my Volta looks nothing like how it did when I first got him!

G2Red 21-07-2011 05:19 PM

any bros experience bichir lying on her back like losing buoyancy...I have one endi like that which has been discussed...now a Lapradei also like that...both captive bred but other tankmates all ok....

I guess that it is stressed. Happened to my ex-endi which recently passed away. Always belly up and bent in a C-shape. Feeds and shits upside down. The whole ordeal lasted for about a year until it passed away peacefully.

Do you feed them feeders? Could be internal parasites
My retro used to do that but recovered after I used Jungle Parasite on it

Is it bloated? If it is, most likely will be what Elindra mentioned. Another possibility is SBP.
