Strad 16-12-2015 12:17 PM

my juvenile tigers are feeding on MP (NTT, IT, AT)

Any special points to take note when keeping them, like for instance Arowana?

I tried to do small water changes but more frequent ..

What do you guys feed and water changing regime?

Thanks ...

Not worth even is cheap as high casualty and slow growth rate. Get those at least 3 - 4 ".

Hearsay all wild caught. Think tiger fish hard to breed. But abundant in the wild for Indo tiger. If can breed ST then all happy happy :-)

LauLanChu 23-12-2015 01:28 PM

If is really WC probably that is the reason is difficult to keep and grow for that size.

cher boon 24-12-2015 01:46 AM

Want to raise the mini tigers, the water must add more salt.:D

fhan 25-12-2015 12:10 AM

Put heater for keeping babies tiger, set at 28-30c,

Thus temperature constant, and babies always hungry.

Mix the blood worm bit by bit with tetra bit when feeding, thenfinaly convert into full pellet feeding.

The only way (i know) to mAke stable, is to keep the tiger single.

Cheers

if wild caugght,
and these small IT being sold at such rates, looks like IT might soon become rare too, as the harvesting seems to be at crazy rates

betppl 28-12-2015 05:04 PM

Pity the small ITs. Saw so many dead in the LFS....

derekchia 28-12-2015 05:29 PM

Not easy to raise these tiny tigers.

itchy 28-12-2015 09:00 PM

Yea. Casualty rate always very high...:o

Tustar 29-12-2015 11:04 PM

We shld stop buying such size tigers.
No demand the supplies will drop.

Over fishing and lack of preservation of natural habitat already lead to extinction of my many species in the wild:mad:

What you saw may be small portion, more casualty would be occurred in transportation and even in hobbyists' tank:(

Your suggestion is positive, some proactive steps such as captive breed and preserve natural resources should be encourage. :o

Bought 8 mini IT for $8 at Clementi. After 2 days, 1 gone. I was under impression that they will grow fast.

I also want to know the answer. Have 4 IT of 4 inches. Feed mainly on dried shrimps. In 422 tank. It is forever like 4 pieces of charcoal swimming in tank. Active swimming thought mean stable, feeding well but always black.

Just realise I have 8 of them still, 1 gone though. Growing really well with tubifex worms. Very stable with clear body and thick black bars. and at least 3 of them 3 bars, 1 3.5 bars. Growing broad and fat. Enjoying every moment.

Will try to take a video later, anyone can help me post? I quite idiot on this. They are in a black tank, not sure if it will be clear.
