Normally, how fast does the Repair units returned.
I had a OF 30 used for 1 month having current leak problem. Had sent for repair through seaview since late Nov and no news as yet.

Never the less, it is a good product.

HI, the filter itself comes with the catapure media cartridges.

eNox 03-01-2013 04:26 AM

I wish there is more reviews, im really curious about this product.

canopy 03-01-2013 10:33 AM

Hydra 40 available already?

joesan27 13-01-2013 01:00 AM

when will hydra 40 be ready?

zhiz22 04-04-2013 11:07 AM

Does it lead to increase in tank water temperature?

Today I bought my Hydra 30 new type, and realise that in the Hydra 40 and Hydra 50 when I open up the catalogue/manual within it. Can I know is the Hydra 40 available for sales now??

ethanleow 27-05-2013 11:13 AM

The other thing i'd like to check is, your old Hydra 30 can treat 100 ~ 300l, however, the new Hydra 30 state that it can only treat 100 - 200l, does that mean that there's an efficiency drop for both types? If yes, I will change back to the old one instead.

millenium 27-05-2013 11:24 AM

Anyone monitor their nitrate while using this? Does it work effectively?

nerd 02-06-2013 10:37 AM

Flow rate

Hi QH,

I bought the Stream 1 and attached it to my pump with flow rate 6500l/h.

Is it too fast for the catalyst to break down the nitrite?

Thank you

Hi , where did you buy the stream 1? how much does it cost??

nerd 02-06-2013 02:42 PM

I bought at Aquarama 2013 yesterday.
Good price, I feel if the filter do what I need it to do.

My only concern is whether the flow rate is too fast for the breakdown.

Jonathan_ee 02-06-2013 02:45 PM

Just bought the Hydra Stream 1 yesterday at aquarama. My nitrates and nitrites are the same. But one thing did change alot was the PH of my water. From 6.2 yesterday it shot up to 7.2 today. Ammonia still remains at 0.50

kenza 02-06-2013 02:50 PM

May i know what's the diff between the Hydra stram and Hydra 40? Mind sharing the price? Am considering placing it in my slump tank last compartment.

The stream 1 is new product. Can go down to QH if you need it urgent. Cost about $10x before discount at AQRM 2013. The diff between stream and Hyra is the flow rate, design and the number of catriage.

Aro 03-06-2013 01:42 PM

AQRM 2013 heard from QH sales person that the cartridges will only be available in a few months time.

kenza 03-06-2013 02:07 PM

Yea, hear that too and cost $15 for 1. Life span around 1 yrs before you need to replace a new one.

nerd 03-06-2013 02:42 PM

just called up QH. They mentioned that the flow rate of my pump does not actually affect the process... I hope they can confirm it here....

i will let my one run for a few days and watch.

so far the PH level is up. consistently at 7.5.
I am quite ok about it.

Just the nitriate stuff need to be watched....

fdelity 03-06-2013 10:03 PM

How does the stream 1 looks like and what are the specs?

Hydra 20, 30,40 and 50 will be available for sales in most of LFS next week as it is just being launched in recent Aquarama 2013.:)

Hi,

There is no efficiency drop in the new model of Hydra 30 filter although there is a change in the volume of water that it can support. The reason is because after receiving numerous feedback after the launch of the first version Hydra 30, we noticed that some of the hobbyist tank is keeping quite a high number of fish and the bio load are real high.

Therefore with this new version, we reduce the volume of water that it can support so that the efficiency of the filter can be maximise as we understand that lower volume will means smaller fish tank and lesser fish being kept in the tank.

Sorry that this has caused a confusion here.

The flow rate will not affect the efficiency of the filter as the reaction time for the catalyst to react is nano second and it is times faster than UVC and Ozone filter.

Hydra 40 is an internal filter that allows you to place it in your tank that comes with bio sponge.

Hydra Stream is a adapter that require an additional pump to flush the water through it, just like a UVC unit and can support higher volume of water tank.

Yes, you may place it at the last compartment of your sumo tank.

Yes, the replacement cartridges will be available in the market in another 3 months time as we had just launch the main filter itself in Aquarama 2013.

Yes, the flowrate of the pump will not affect the efficiency of the catalyst as the react time is in nano second.

The Ph of your tank will increase slightly due to hydroxyl ions that Hydra produced. But the Ph will not fluctaute more than a factor of 1 and will not affect those fish that require low Ph.

Yes, old Hydra and new Hydra has different size catridge as we are using a different size filter and design.

canopy 05-06-2013 03:59 PM

do you have the new product specifications to view?

Qian Hu 06-06-2013 02:59 PM

Bro,

Below is the link to the spec of the filter, thanks.

Hi bro,

Hydra filter will not effect the water perimeter create by black water, but it might caused the tinted effect to wear off on some brand's black water.

PNT Guy 15-06-2013 05:22 PM

Will the filter be able to break down the dissolved organic matter within the water that causes the aquarium's water to be tinted slightly brown?

It might helps a little bit here but it will not completely remove the tinted color of the water.

ethanleow 18-06-2013 04:41 PM

Hi QH, I would like to check if I can use this as a pump by modifying a tube to fit the outlet head and use it as a sump pump? I understand the flow the flow might not be strong enough but I'm using the Hydra 50 for a 200litre tank, so I believe it should be sufficient. I'm not sure worried about the flow as my lifestock will be low as this is not going to be predatory tank.
