I love rummy nose tetras but do they get attacked by the discus?
I feel that the landscape looks a bit flat, have you experimented with some gradual slope or a cluster of different height plants to break the monotony of the flat ground?

Rummy nose are very fast swimmers compared to cardinal. Discus can't catch them.

not necessary, bro. rummies stay very still and at the bottom when resting. esp at nights. that's when a smart discus can strike.
