The aro pair at the front(in the pic) is the alpha and they are really fierce and aggressive... Another pair that I recently brought back from office were gana chased and whacked until they hide at the back... Very poor things... All the other aros dont even dare to come to the front 😓

Great updates...water clarity looks terrific

IMO, tank covers like your acrylic might work. Need a good size fan to blow between the water surface and the covers. Condensation on the cover might be minimized. Another way is to build a proper support frame to hold the acrylic higher above water level.

Yesterday test the parameters. Ammonia and Nirite are good. As usual the Nitrate is a heache 😓

http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/...pshrxdckdv.jpg

The result is Red Red in colour. Suspecting if is the test kit problem and so I test the water from the water tap too.. bo dai ji, not red at all as it is sjown in the pic... So is confirm that my pond problrm- full of nitrate despite of growing the plants to absorb and also wc 40% weekly (or at least one every 2 weeks when lazy), it didnt help in the nitrate issue! Haiz.... Sian...

To solve this problem, decided to get the MP to try out since there are so many good reviews from the bros here 😊 Hopefully the MP really helps in reducing the nitrate. We shall aee how it goes. But hor, my wife everday at home so how ah? 😆 Haha....

Then do it after she sleeps lor...:D
I am using MP currently.
For nitrate, hasn't seen any difference. Probably need a very large quantity of MP and set correct flow rate.

Reduce feeding can reduce nitrate too.
Since your fishes are big liao...dun need to feed everyday...alternate feeding will do.
I feed my fishes in ST96 once a week only with pellets.

Credit to this website I had certain insight add why even if we do wc at fix frequency the high nitrate is still even observed.

This is also why my tank had high nitrate after certain time when it starts accumulates even with weekly wc.

More plants will have to be planted?
