Sprinkle the seeds on Friday evening , this is how it looks today (Monday)
should have put a layer of soil on top.. but forgot and now regretted looks like the roots are moldy.. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psczgdrfcb.jpg This looks like hairgrass? some of the roots are about 1cm long and rooted into the soil! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psbyl0npth.jpg another look of it.. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...pspyjzdwzx.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psodatc1m1.jpg foreground supposed to be glosso http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psgadcwl5h.jpg hopefully can fill up soon... http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psusqk86md.jpg |
another day update...
foreground looks like growing well... http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psblpegvb3.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psofhw2bdx.jpg Background over taking by mold  can see some browning too... feel like topping up with water ..... http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps1km5qx5i.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psd4jcxtdg.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...pst0o0zs4b.jpg This is how much they grow within a few days.. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps6ntum159.jpg |
don't want to wait liao... just do it!
topped up the tank on Tuesday topping up http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psu9z2gz8t.jpg with lights on http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psumqbnzqu.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...pspyhalmjb.jpg just after top up... no floating of any plants.. which is a good sign.. I think it is because when the seed germinate, there is a layer of gel clinging on to the soil hence there is no floating. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psnqizuo4v.jpg Wednesday-- looks a bit cloudy... hope it will clear up soon.. :) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psuirbjysj.jpg |
Did you siphon out the mould or boh chap just add water then change water? I have the same problem last time with semi dry start setup.
|
I just top up no siphon..
this is a great mistake... as I did not add any live stock in to eat the mold ... become very messy.. the grass behind did not last as well... I might need to redo this tank soon... whole base become quite messy... I will suggest to bury the seeds in soil... |
