At least now everytime there is a live United match, I anticipate that we will win no matter who is the opponent.

Bring on PSG next.

“we were in control of the first half,

second half they had many chances,

but you’re allowed to have a good goalkeeper,

I think "

BBP604 14-01-2019 07:51 PM

Its quite an even match.
Can see both teams created as many chances in the attacking.
We were better in the finishing.

loveikan 14-01-2019 11:35 PM

As many would have expected, Spurs attacked relentlessly in the 2nd half, we were fortunate to have DDG or else we would have lost the game.
Spurs goalie also has quite a gd game too as he was able to save a few goals bound shots esp from PP.

One of our unsung hero was Herrera among others. Great to see our lads enjoying their games now with the new freedom given by Ole.

loveikan 15-01-2019 12:51 PM

Watched a video with a Spurs fan shouting when DDG made saves after saves to keep the ball out.....he said there are 3 persons or goalkeepers.....David, De and Gea.:p

That was a very good compliment indeed:D

Will Ole be given a permanent contract?

HERRERA: HOW OLE'S TACTICS HELPED US BEAT TOTTENHAM

Ander Herrera has praised the tactical gameplan that was prepared by Manchester United caretaker manager Old Gunnar Solskjaer and his assistants at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal to earn an important 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, by latching onto a magnificent long ball from the talismanic Paul Pogba in midfield.

Speaking to us after the final whistle, a jubilant Herrera revealed the players had been instructed to switch the play at pace due to the shape of the Spurs midfield – which worked a treat for the goal!

“The manager told us that at the beginning of the game it would be difficult to make short passes,” Ander explained. “He told us that it would be easier for us to switch the play and to look – almost without looking - to the other side of the pitch to switch the ball, because that is where we were going to find spaces.

“We scored like that, so thank you to the game plan as well.”

After taking a 1-0 lead into the half-time break, the Reds started the second half with an ambition to double the lead and almost did so, with Pogba testing goalkeeper Hugo Lloris on three occasions.

Tottenham then began to control the game and created several opportunities of their own, although the home side could not find an equaliser they so desperately craved – partly because of a resolute defensive performance from United, but also due to David De Gea making 11 saves in total.

“It was fantastic,” Herrera reflected. “When you have the combination between the talent we have, the effort everyone made and the best goalkeeper in the world, these kinds of things can happen.

“We have to be fair with ourselves and say the draw probably would have been fair. But I think we deserve these kind of things because we are working so hard, we are believing, we are following the plan that the manager and his assistants give us, and we have the number one in the goal.”

Expanding, Herrera continued: “Until the minute 60 we could have been winning 2-0, but we didn't because we missed a couple of chances.

“After that it was David, it was David! He is the number one. I have never seen something like this. It is something terrific, as you say. The only thing we can do is enjoy David and enjoy the attacking players we have, because they are doing amazing work. They have so much talent. The other players, we will work hard for them and try to keep winning games.”

"IT WAS ALL ABOUT HARD WORK, AND DAVID!"VIDEO
Solskjaer has now overseen six wins from his opening six matches and no other boss in United history has achieved that record. Herrera was not aware of that impressive statistic when told and although he agreed it was a notable achievement, he is keen to look at the bigger picture.

“We are still sixth, so let's keep our feet on the floor, let's try to beat Brighton and be humble,” he said. “We didn't start the league very well so we still have a long way to work to reach the top four.”

absolutely agree with this ......
let's keep our feet on the ground .....

Looks like Fellaini used the same "trick" that Rojo had been using all these time...conveniently injured during the "transfer" month so that no other teams would look upon them favourably. This thus forces us to keep them in the team whilst they recuperate from their "injuries"
Fellaini had been high on the "sell-out" list together with Rojo, but with their "timely" injuries, looks like we have to keep them till the summer or otherwise we need to sell them very very cheaply

loveikan 19-01-2019 01:18 AM

IMHO he is worth it.

De Gea is happy with the length of contract offered by MUFC but wants parity with Sanchez on £350k a week, the club's highest earner [The Times]

loveikan 19-01-2019 04:19 PM

Another player, A.Martial who is close to agreeing a new 5 years deal with soke details to iron out.

loveikan 19-01-2019 11:08 PM

Looks like Ole fielding an unchanged team

KeeHuat 19-01-2019 11:18 PM

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Jones, Shaw, Matic, Herrera, Pogba, Lingard, Martial, Rashford

Subs: Romero, Bailly, Sanchez, Mata, Lukaku, Pereira, Dalot

KeeHuat 19-01-2019 11:58 PM

There has been a late change to the Manchester United team.

Full-back Luke Shaw has pulled out due to illness. Diogo Dalot starts. That may well see Ashley Young switch to left-back.

Matteo Darmian is now on the bench

sfk7 20-01-2019 12:43 AM

Rashford is on fire! Red hot form with lots of confidence

SabaDen92 20-01-2019 05:49 AM

And now, we're 3 behind 4th...:)

loveikan 20-01-2019 09:29 AM

Keep the momentum going. Just play to our strength!!!

Shadow7 20-01-2019 03:04 PM

Didn’t like the last nerve wrecking 15mins but it’s 3 points in the bag and looking forward to many more 3

KeeHuat 20-01-2019 03:07 PM

Matic was slow and lost the ball numerous times when he was in possession.

BBP604 20-01-2019 09:18 PM

Guess our baby-faced has found his first XI.
Lets hope the casualty can recover to allow squad for rotation.
Every match is like final and we just have to focus.

Harry bailed out tottenham in the last moment, too bad for us.

Alli down with hamstring. Actually I would personally have prefered for us to pipe Chelsea to 4th place and have Spurs overtaking Liverpool & Man City to the title. Now with Kane & Alli injured and Son on national duties it seems like they will be suck into the battle for the top 4 positions with so many 1st team key players unavailable at the same time it will be a tough period.

Almost there bah.

Herrera, Lindeloff, Martial and Rashford improve the most since Ole took over.

Only Fred and Valencia hardly play since.

loveikan 21-01-2019 05:26 PM

Watched a video on Rashford"s training and it looked tough.
Can also see that beef up a lot now.
Not sure the training is on his own or is he following a customized training plan.

Why Spurs? Shouldn't the best team win the title ? :D :p

Would not Tottenham be the best team if they win the title

jwhtan 21-01-2019 09:38 PM

I think the title is still Liverpool's to lose

1. To state the obvious, Liverpool have lost only one game and are 4 points ahead.
2. Barring one year, every team that lead the Premiership Standings at Christmas went on to win the title.
3. It is really difficult to win the Premiership consecutively. Only two teams have managed to win back to back titles.

Personally I dun think Spurs can mount a challenge. Especially with Kane injured and Son away at the Asian Games. They just do not have the strength in depth.

So it's just a two horse race for the title

But the race for 4th place is beginning to get interesting.

Then no difference if Man City, Liverpool or Tottenham win the title, including Man Utd. Just the best team to win :D

Manchester United is delighted to announce that Scott McTominay has signed a new contract, which will keep him at the club until June 2023, with the option to extend for a further year.

Scott McTominay said:

“Manchester United has been my life since the age of five and playing for the club I've always supported is all I've ever wanted to do.

“I'm still young and I'm learning all the time from the manager, his coaching staff and from the world-class players in the squad.

”I can't wait to continue my progress at this great club.“

KeeHuat 22-01-2019 12:00 PM

There are some rumours that Paul Scholes will be named as the new manager of Oldham. If he becomes their manager, we will see how good he is since he has been critical of many managers and players.

Emiliano Sala: Cardiff City FC player on missing plane
Premier League footballer Emiliano Sala was on a light aircraft which went missing over the Channel Islands, the French Civil Aviation authority said.

The Argentine striker was one of two people on board the Piper Malibu which lost contact off Alderney in the Channel Islands on Monday night.

Cardiff City signed the 28-year-old for a club-record £15m fee from French club Nantes on Saturday.

Guernsey Police said there was "no trace" of the Cardiff-bound aircraft.

This guy just signed for Cardiff past Saturday and was on the way to join the club. Poor lad ...pray for him that he's ok :(

SabaDen92 23-01-2019 03:29 AM

Not a good sign from views of experts conducting the search.
Guernsey Police said there was "no trace" of the Cardiff-bound flight and has suspended the search for the night.

"We have found no signs of those on board," the force tweeted.

"If they did land on the water, the chances of survival are at this stage, unfortunately, slim."'

Sometimes, such an event puts everything into perspective:(

loveikan 24-01-2019 06:54 AM

Read Sala's messages to his football friends in french club, Nantes....really sad n scary.
Through his messsges can really understood his joy towards his new football career's path and fear for the worst during the flight.

sfk7 24-01-2019 09:58 AM

Was looking forward to see him play

Shadow7 24-01-2019 06:35 PM

PSG's Neymar re-injures right foot, taken to hospital after cup win against Strasbourg and he will probably miss the CL tie with us on 12th Feb.
An unfair advantage to United ? Or OGS is having all the luck in the world ?
