how do you tell if a sea anemone is dead?
Any clues? The tentacles don't seem to bloom as large as before today...
Not sure if it's dead, but one thing for sure is that my clownfish is still wriggling within its tentacles... |
Sometimes they don't bloom because they are squeezing out waste. You do this went you "gek sai" in the toilet too. :)
However, if you see the anemone melting, then it may be a sign that it is going to die. |

Yes, or when you see streaks of white stuff oozing out from the anemone's "meat".
Yes, it's quite visible, when they are dying, they will become more of a liquid state, like ooze. And there will be a bad smell when you net it out.
heh. my anemone is still alive! cci[RR]us, you were right, it was gek-sai mode that day... it's back to normal now...
the mouth open wide and tenticles not moving
takes time for such animals
its color turn dull, start 'melting' and super smelly until u wanna vomit when u net out
haha... but usually when an anemone dies , it will already be half gone... it will srink in size.. usually its death sympth will be part of it is already melting away.:)
anemone needs enough light... normally a 10k will not do... mh is still the best.. |
