Dropeye

Hi friends,

My Arowana has dropeye...

Want to perform some surgery if it gets a lot worse. Anyone know where to get information on this? My Google searches didn't help much.

Some mature aros do developed drop eye.

I had adopted a almost 20 yrs old RTG from my brother-in-law last November.

The old timer was pretty sluggish & only fed with crickets & live prawns. Kept in a 4x1.5x1.5 semicircular tank.

Likewise, it developed very serious drop eye on one eye.

I housed old timer in a 422 with 2 small tiger oscars. Diet: just pork.

By March, no more drop eye.

Thank you very much for the info streetsmart.

Just 2 questions.

RTG?

So you suggest I put mine in a bigger tank? Atm it is in a 200G and by December I want to put him in a 500G pond that I have yet to build. And then only feed him pork? Any other diet suggestions?

Thank you again!

Bro, wow! That's one huge pond for your aro. That will do plenty of good to your aro.

The aro will consume anything when it is hungry.

I feed my fish (aros, oscars, kois) pork as it's most available & cheap :D. Nothing to do with the drop eye :p

In pond 99.99999% No chance of droopeye!!!!

Diet wise, better to give a variety or alternate foodtype on alternate days
