Just to update my own thread for posterity sake. FF and tilapias can get along. FF is now very hardworking. Cleaning up the tank. Should be completely clean in a few weeks.

Thanks. I'm more concerned that the bite marks become infected and then they die.. no plans to get any new females for now as they are quite big. If I choose to get a female, will need a bigger one...

Erm correct me if I'm wrong but after 20 to 30 min, the pH will still remain the same. It won't go to neutral pH on its own. It's not like temperature.
