Gouramis (not the giant ones ) . Pearl or snakeskin . Very cheap , size just nice abt 4-5" when grown . no need air pump as they breathe surface air like bettas . Very hardy .

woke up this morning to see him upside down. Was still breathing, but gave up the fight after 2 hours. Water quality is fine. No obvious bite marks.
