Sorry if I asked too much becoz i'm seriously considering getting a 3D background for my new 4ft tank.

I'm using nippon spray cans, those you can find anywhere easily, including places like HomeFix.
When you are spraying, u can choose a darker color as base and a lighter one for toning.(i use to fix plastic models so i have a general idea how to paint
)
Try to tone the lighter parts really light because water will decrease the visibility.
as for tape you can use those normal tape or velcro tapes if you can find them.
