Let's not divert from the original discussion shall we? As in every standard, there's always what's called a 'perfect' fish. But in reality, such a fish may not be found easily.
It does not mean that the fish we keep is a cull. We keep those fishes because we like them, for whatever reasons. They may not necessarily be perfect, in the sense of meeting a particular given standard, but they
meet our own standard - for breeding, for enjoyment, etc. That's why I have always advocated that we buy and keep the fish we like, not what someone else likes. That way, your fish would always receive the best care.
