if you are worried on what kind of effects the stones might have on your water chemistry, why dont you try it on a small tank, just aerate the water and see what are the parameters after a few days? throw some BB & some frozen meat in there.

Ph is still ok. I controlling the Ph at around 8 for my fishes. My concern is whether this is safe to use in aquarium which I can't test without casualty.
