We were simply punished for playing the JM style i.e. defending a slim lead. Most of the players were performing below par, and up till now, DDG has not improved on his game in defending corners. And VL positioning was absolutely poor for their equaliser. Ole must show more passion rather than sitting on the bench for most part of the game and watching on the tv set.

The corner should have been claimed by DDG, it was not whipped in but lifted up high where the goalkeeper is favored to get his hands or fist to it first.

De Gea doesn't usually come out for corners. His body is not built up enough and will get bashed by big players. Don't think he will change his style.

Lindelöf can play pass but he is not tough enough to deal with big solid forwards.

RASHFORD READY TO MAKE HISTORY AGAIN

Marcus Rashford is to become the youngest ever recipient of an honorary degree from The University of Manchester, in recognition of his achievements as a footballer and as a passionate campaigner against child poverty.

The 22-year-old will follow in the footsteps of Manchester United legends Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton by receiving an honorary doctorate, the highest honour the university can bestow.

In a statement announcing the award, Rashford said: “It’s a proud day for myself and my family. When you look at the great names that have been awarded this doctorate in the past, it’s humbling.

“We still have a long way to go in the fight to combat child poverty in this country but receiving recognition from your city means we are heading in the right direction and that means a lot. Thank you to The University of Manchester.”

Rashford's dedication to the cause has taken him from the back pages of the newspapers to the front pages in recent weeks. An open letter to Members of Parliament about his personal experiences of using foodbanks influenced a change in government policy, enabling children who have free school meals in term-time to continue receiving them during the summer.

In addition, Marcus's collaboration with poverty and food waste charity, FareShare, led to £20million being raised in financial and food donations and 3.9 million meals being distributed to vulnerable people every week during the COVID-19 crisis.

The University of Manchester's president and vice-chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, said: “Marcus is an extraordinary young man with an extraordinary talent and drive that stretches well beyond the football field.

“His work for charity and his high-profile campaign will not only help countless young people across our own city, but across the entire country.

“Our university has social responsibility at its core and this sense of civic pride and duty is something we are proud to share with Marcus. That is why the university is delighted to make Marcus our youngest ever recipient of an honorary degree.”

A spokesperson for United said: “Marcus is an exceptional player and an exceptional person. His work with FareShare and his focus on child poverty make him richly deserving of this tremendous honour and everyone at Manchester United is incredibly proud of him.”

Congratulations, Marcus!

The dates for the Premier League summer transfer window have been released and it will run for 10 weeks from July 27.

The season in England’s top flight will have come to an end by then, and the window will shut on October 5 later this year.

Clubs who have a busy summer ahead will have time to complete transfers given the October date, plus there is an extended period for deals with EFL teams too.

The domestic-only transfer window for Premier League clubs to sign players from the EFL will run from October 5 to October 16.

The transfer window is subject to the approval of FIFA and it remains to be seen how much business leading clubs will decide to do this summer in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis.

Arsenal frustrated Liverpool with a 2-1 victory both goals courtesy of uncharacteristic errors (VVD and then Allison)
Liverpool completely dominated the 2nd half pounding shots after shots but to no avail. So there goes Liverpool quest to beat the 100 points of M City

The team really looks tired against Southampton maybe it’s time to freshen up the starting 11 and let some of them rest for the battles ahead. They have been playing non stop every 3 days.

Hope Greenwood recovered from the bad tackle by Romeu who is known to be a pretty dirty player. Surprised he was not even shown a yellow or even a red card as his tackle from slow motion seems deliberate to hurt Greenwood
