welcome to this hobby
nice and simple design i would say some things to note, as you move along, you will notice that alot of uneaten food or dirt will be trapped in between the coral chips at the bottom. therefore in future, try using a smaller grain size and the situation should improve. how about sharing more info such as types of fishes inside? filtration? feeding regime? thanks for sharing! |

Thank you for the advice. I thought of lay with fine grain coral chips too. Decided to lay with bigger coral chips because worried the fine chips will pass through the underwater gravel system and choking it. Btw, I always feed the sinking pellets at the oyster shell area. So even though the fishes misses it, the food will drop onto the oyster and eventually will clear by any hungry fish. Info of my setup :- a) Tank Size : 23"W x 12"D x 15"Ht b) Fitration : Eheim E2224 Canister and undergravel system run with airpump c) Food : Main diet - sinking and floating dry pellets, Seasonal diet - fresh oyster and market prawn. d) Fish Specimen : Frankly, I don't know any of them. I just net them when they are attracted to me. Maybe, some bro here can ID for me. I will post more closer pictures of the fishes later. Thank you in advance. hmm seems like a pretty good setup and feeding regime you have as for your fishes from the looks of it, it is a mix of both malawian and tangan fishes and my guess for some of them are yellow labs, julies, bichardi.. most importantly is that tank parameters are right and you enjoy it! that's all that matters cos the tank is for you to enjoy (: |

Nice 2 ft tank like the coral scape. The coral rocks provide a good back drop to contrast the fish colors.
As for unearth food, can always suck them up, 65 litres easily managable Envy the corals, can't have them for my shy frontosas |

Yeah, coral scape is not advisable for your expensive frontosas. It is razor sharp and will cut your fishes if they are not careful. |
