Hmmm... lets see..

tank + sump + Delivery : $300+
Eheim 1260 + ball valve + Teco chiller + Deltec MCE 600 : $500~
Maxspect g2 170w : $300
Jebao WP-40 : $105
Carib-sea special grade reef sand : $80
live rocks : $50
overflow box : $50
filter sock + holder : $30+
TLF phosban 150 x 2 : $100~
biopellets : $50+

total : $1500+

most of the equipments i got are 2nd hand. first hand will be alot more liao.. some stuff reuse from old 34L set up.. for a set up this big i think the cost is quite low.

U super rich leh pal.. its not about the money u spend.. is the maintenance lor.. but then the end effect is 2 to 3 x more satisfying and nice compare to FW.. I mean based on my individual experiences. I just cannot stand those worms in the coral.. forgot what they call.. that time found one at least 5cm long with teeth.. wann catch it but forever hiding..

Not rich la bro.. have been saving up for many years awaiting this dream to come true.. before jumping to marine my freshwater (altum pleco set up) cost was only food so its fairly cheap to maintain.. sell altums and misc stuff also got back some money to fund for this project..

IMO, maintenance easier than freshwater leh.. at least for my pleco altum set up.. used to do 50% WC twice a week. now i do 10% WC once per 2 weeks.
also got to wash OHF filter wool twice a week.. now wash sock, skimmer cup once a week.

i think my rock totally no worms/pest liao.. during the 2 days of soaking. found 3 crabs and after removing rock from the pail, the bottom did have some dead worms.. most likely bristle.. even though rocks from a reefer who kept mainly SPS.. still caught 3 crabs.. hopefully no more liao.. never notice any bristle worm or any other kind of pest at all though..
