Venue for Fish Competitions/Seminars/Events

Dear all

We now have the opportunity to work with Toa Payoh West Community Club/Toa Payoh Heights RC to organise a year-long calendar of events. Thanks to the Singapore Flowerhorn Club for helping make the introduction to the Vice-Chairman of the Toa Payoh Heights RC.

The following areas are available for our use:

Indoor space (air-conditioned) in the Community Club.
Pavilion just next to the Community Club.
Seminar room (air-conditioned) in the RC, near the Pavilion.

The location is good, offering ample car parking (3 multi-storey blocks) and is a mere 3 mins from the MRT station.

In order to plan this year-long calendar of events, we would like to invite all Clubs to express their interest in organising competition, seminars, etc.....

The conditions of the use of the facilities has not been discussed in detail as we will only do so, if we are able to come up with a good enough programme.

However, what is clear is that the events must not be of a commercial nature. The events and competitions must be opened to the public. The Community Club and RC will assist in getting their MP to grace the events and to give away prizes, etc...

This certainly look very exciting and I look forward to hearing from the various Club Presidents/Chairmen. For those who have no club, eg: Arowana

, just let us know if you guys are interested and AF will help organise, but members must also do their part to assist.

Aircon Seminar Room

The partition wall can be open to create a larger seminar room, so we can have 1 larger seminar or 2 small seminars.

Car Park - there are blocks of such multi-storey car park around the Community Club.

To add on to what bro D24 has said, one of the major obstacles to hold events is finding a central venue that is convenient for everybody at an affordable rental cost. The Toa Payoh West CC offers us the opportunity to overcome this obstacle because they are prepared to consider letting us use their facilities at no or minimal cost, provided it is a win-win situation for both parties. In order to make the events a reality, D24 cannot do it alone. It is hoped that the respective fish clubs i.e. flowerhorn club, pleco club, guppy club, betta club, etc will come forward to support him so that everybody can work together to make the events a success.
