Arowana Pairing Question?
Do Arowanas stay paired for life?
or do they change partners occasionally? Reason for Asking is I had a pair before. They laid eggs but i was not here so was not able to harvest from the males mouth, But before his partner he had another partner in the comm, So in My comm i have 2 which i know are females and 1 confirmed male. Now when i got back from overseas, after a few days the female was Was able to get through the divider and mixed with my separated comm. I eft her there for a few weeks, now when i tried to move her in with the male again, I'm not sure if they're paired , but her tail is quite torn, So I think they might have separated. If i they are paired and i leave them together by themselve , will they stay paired? I have now released the comm again, so the male can choose who he wants . I'm only sure of the sex of 3 aros in my comm though. |

hi bro,
Mine don't pair for life! I pair the aro in a tank and the male XB got its eggs from 1st female (1F) and hold for a month before he lost all the eggs. Put it back to a com of 3 and same male hold the eggs again with 2nd female (2F) and this time for 3 mths. Now the problem comes. After harvesting he became very aggressive. I tried putting him with 1F & 2F in a comm and 1F got badly injured; chase by the male & 2F. The male seem comfortable with 2F. Now i've tried putting only the male & 2F, and result is not there. The male became too aggressive whenever i put only the 2 in a com. Now he don't pair with any. Hope that help. |
