too much bubbles build up meaning ur tank too high in protein liao

or we so called waste products...sometimes u see this in high ammonia concentration tanks

Water clear - use diff variety of sponges can liao...follow the sewage method...the porous ones to the fine media...the smaller the lobang the better the adherence of bacteria to the water surface...

Another thing on using PH 5.1 is with regards to the mass loss of bacteria count...at PH 5.1 its abit too dangerous as I mentioned to u before the bacteria will start to die off at this stage...their preferential PH is ard 5.8 to 6.5

However if u are running an IOS or wet/dry filter,i do not use a to fine sponges or wool cos i think the BBs in the chamber will have insufficient foos and deplete.U use Bacteria home,CR etc there are a lot of surface area and i think it will be good that all BBs are well fed and yr water para will be more in control like a koi pond's filter all the brushes and wool are loosely arrange.

wet dry --> need air interaction --> tats y we call wet dry....

the Koi filtration all make use of this concept

Well packed porous to "non porous" uses marine concept

u play around with the various aspects and get the quality of water u prefer

depends also on the overall environment too...IMO IOS is good only for one red...somemore feeding have to be controlled...not really beneficial unless u are really hardworking to maintain the changing or washing of wools, check the water every now and then...

In wet dry u try to keep as much bacteria within a limited space and must also prevent them from being "washed" back into the main tank...

tats y u need high capacity loading media to accumulate these bacteria

Somethings are there in the logical sense, most can be explained using scientific / logical reasoning...nothing so special

Of cos 1 red la u think i got so many like u is it?? However one can choose whether to use is a wet dry or wet wet to have anaerobic bateria which are more stable than aerobic, but like PCB said the simplest is the best.i only use bubble filter and nothing else also ang ang.
