Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Anthony Martial did not want to play in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Aston Villa as he seeks a January transfer.

The Red Devils were missing several attackers for the trip to Villa Park, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford both carrying injuries, yet Martial – who is fit for selection – was not named in the matchday squad, with United only able to name eight substitutes.

Asked about his lack of subs, and if Martial was the reason, Rangnick explained: ‘Yes, he didn’t want to be in the squad.

‘He would have been in the squad normally but he didn’t want to, and that’s the reason why he was not travelling with us yesterday.’
Wished there are clauses in the contract that punishes such errant act of defiant. Blame it on the Glazers for protecting Martial all along esp during Jose's time when he blocked the sales

Now reply from Martial, who is telling the truth!

Anthony Martial rejects Ralf Rangnick claim he refused to be in Man Utd squad at Aston Villa

France striker Anthony Martial has rejected interim Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick's claim that he refused to be in the squad to play Aston Villa.

Martial has already told Rangnick he wants to leave United this month and Sevilla are keen to sign him.

"I will never refuse to play a match for Man Utd," said the 26-year-old forward in a social media post.

"I've been here for seven years and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans."

Elanga played well, attacked and was direct against the opposing players and worked well to defend. Ran out of steam a bit in the second half.

So now it is a case of who is telling the truth.
One thing is for sure, Rangnick should not discuss "internal conflicts" to the press and throwing his players under the bus to deflect his naivety iafter the team dropped points against Villa. Instead he should focus on what went wrong with his tactics or game plan. Even if AM was included in the squad, doubt he would be used as a sub and AM knew this is going to be the case

Maybe to prove a point to Joel Grazier, who thinks Martial is the French Pele and is reluctant to sell him.

Ralf Rangnick announces new Man Utd formation as stars can't make 4-2-2-2 work

Ralf Rangnick is planning an overhaul of Manchester United's tactics after a concerning run of one win in four Premier League games leaves them seventh in the table

Ralf Rangnick will discard his favoured formation in a bid to reverse Manchester United 's poor form and get Jadon Sancho firing.

The interim manager is ready to do away with his 4-2-2-2 set-up and pursue a 4-3-3 system he hopes will benefit United's stuttering £73million winger.

Sancho had to settle for a late cameo against Steven Gerrard's side and the struggling England international has only scored twice since his big-money arrival from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

Rangnick admits his traditional 4-2-2-2 has not played to the 21-year-old's strengths and the German is ready to shake up his tactics so he can line up in his "best position".

"We have now decided to play a 4-3-3 like we did against Aston Villa, with one holding six, two eights and three offensive players," Rangnick said ahead of United's trip to Brentford on Wednesday night.

"It's clear in a 4-3-3 that he (Sancho) is a player for either of the wing positions, either left or right, he can play both.

HT 0-0
We are playing shitty football again without a single shot on target whereas Brentford had 3 on target. All the possession we had was a bloody waste of time without any creativity
