Just adopted a 12+" PNT,keeping it in a 4ft tank with aro. Really POO a lot!

My 4ft tank currently running on 3 canisters (2 E2028 and 1 E2050), but find still need to siphon out the poo as well. Is there no way to maintain clear water with a PNT?

Need some advice if sump filter is the only way to go..... thanks!

i manage to achieve crystal clear water by having 2 canisters 1 internal 1 ohf and a moving bed K1 filter in a 3 ft tank. So the point is having a pnt u have to over over overkill ur filtration system.

Updatesss.

I got the 2nd hand eheim 2028 from a nice guy, he has alot of tanks!!
He taught me briefly how to handle the canister because I've never used one before.
He is changing to one of his 4ft tank to 6ft so had to let this one go.

Just curious, does anyone of your PNT likes to be sayang-ed on the head and rubbed at the neck/chin?

I think I'm the only one here who keep Fly River Turtles who don't fly. Lol

I read that PNT are suppose to be fierce animals but it doesnt seem so to me.
When I sayang his head and give him a chin rub, his neck will extend all the way out like telling me not to miss any spot....at times it will close he will close his eyes and enjoy it

I have yet to see my PNT fly yet because there's not much room for it to swim. He will be moving house next week already!

Anyway, I was thinking of washing the tank with the aquarium salt once, then wash the gravel. fill the tank with water and let the canister and heaters run about a day before I let my turtle in. other than anti-chlorine I don't usually put anything in the water but I was wondering if it is good enough?
I was also thinking of getting a test kit to check the water parameters before putting my turtle in, can advise me what I need to check? pH and temperature and anything else?

they r very aggressive towards one another but i wont say they r fierce. more like territorial.

turtles r not so sensitive to water parameters. u can check pH, ammonia n nitrite as per how u keep a fish. generally, it will b fine for the PNT if there is no wounds on it.
