Co2 liquid or pellet form?

hi bro and sis...
as my moss are growing rather slow.. i decided to have CO2 in my tank.. but i cant buy those few hundreds CO2 set..
so iwas thinking if there is any co2 in liquid form or like say drop 1 pellet and co2(for plants) can be produce?
or drip a few drops of liquid den co2 can be produced?

in thomson, they do sell a CO2 set, i think is electronic type, not a few hundreds

pellet forms, yes, got to yishun 618, i bought from there before, but you need to put one tablet a day

it is not pellets, but tablet, looks like your normal panadol, just throw it into the water

Liquid form is normal products like Seachem Excel. They are not CO2, per se. Rather they provide a carbon source (organic) so that plants can get it readily.

Tablet CO2 is pretty unstable and you need to have the diligence to put it in everytime during lights on. Else you sometimes put sometimes forget, algae will come in due to the unstable CO2 levels.

CO2 Cylinders are not really that expensive. I got my entire set at about $130. You can look around at the buy/sell to look for bargains. No fight for pure CO2 bubbles.

The thing is plants actually have to get used to the CO2 concentrations. If there is low CO2 levels, plant produces alot of Rubisco (this is the enzyme that fixes CO2 in plants) but if the water has alot of CO2 then plants will reduce the Rubisco as they need not fix CO2 frrm the KH (the -HCO3). Algae react much faster than plants so when there is no CO2 in the water anymore, plants take time to get used to the conditions and during this time the algae prosper. Plant growth will inhibit algae growth. Take care of your plants and your tank will prosper. Get the basics right.

So you need to have stable CO2 levels. It is really important. If you have unstable levels, then don't have CO2 at all.

Thus if you want to use tablets, then you got to make sure you use it regularly. That is why I (and alot of people) advocate using a CO2 cylinder with a solenoid regulator. Really helps alot.

So in your case I generally will advise you from adding any carbon source like the tablets.

thanks bro for the advise... like that i think i'll not use the tablet form.. if i got $$$ and space i'll get the Co2 cylinder =)
