Default rays pups just went up to lorry

Hi guys, My 3" female royal marble motoro pups just rest in peace today, the disks are curling heavily just now, been doing it for about 2 days. It has been stop feeding for about 3 days, but earlier it was an active ray, eat greedy, water parameters are perfect, ph 7.5 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 , nitrate 25. Anyone can share what happens?

1 week ago all rays are very active and eating greedily before i introduce a new pair of Leo x Henlei pups. The leo x henlei pups was healthy and eating at the spot before i purchased it back. Now i am facing the same problem with my male pearls pup in the same tank, the disk is curling a bit, and the other rays seems stressed, they stayed at one corner but breathing normal.

What i have done so far are not offered them any food, been doing 30% waterchange for this 2 days with Prime and add a little amount of salt, no medication added so far, raising the temp to 30degrees, and add extra aeration to the tank.

Is this a parasite attack or are they stress due to water condition? Can any experts here share their knowledge? What must i do? Thank you very much.

Wats your tank size and bio load? Seems like the water deteriorated after your introduced more rays.

tank size is 6ft x 3.5ft x 2ft, using 4ft sump filter and an additional T*tra EX1200 canister filter.. Bioloads are only 2 3" silver dollars, 1 albino pleco, 1 pair of 3" pearl ray pups, 1 pair of 2.5" leo x henlei pups, and 1 4" scobina rays. What is deteriorated? Can explain me to please?

Thanks

U need to check the basics :
Ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrates . Ammonia might have spiked after yr new rays introduction, or filter is choked up.
Unfortunately disc curls are end results of many problems like poor water condition, pH crash and disease, so u will have to work from yr water quality first (because that is the easiest thing to solve!)

Its probably the water, but it's hard to say with pups.

bro ask yourself, why in the first place,so eager to bring back pups that are barely 4''big!
so what if the pups eat infront of you before you bring back home.personally at 3-4''depending on breed, they are most likely less than a mth old, even they do start eating mp,they rarely stable enough for us to transport to a new environment yet.if possible booked the pups with confirm deposits,a decent breeder would hv allow you to wait for that extra month for them to reach at least a 4.5or5'' above for you to collect.
no doubt some might argue, that with poor water quality, even an adult would up the lorry as well, but we are talking about pups weakness during transport to new environment.
back to topic, check your ph,and how long hv the tank being seasoned.
remember if someone too earger to sell you pups and insisted you to pack and go on the spot, you should be alarmed.
sincere advise

Considering your load, its acceptable. However, with ray pups, they are generally more sensitive. Is there is diff between the ph and temp of the water in the bag (which with the ray came in) and your tank? A slight diff in this areas would likely prove fatal for most pups as they cant acclimatise properly.

Secondly, your mentioned 3inch pearl ray, its a bit on the small side. How long have the pups been born before you take delivery? If its less than 3-4weeks, its not stable enough for transfer as yet. You have taken a big risk by buying such pups even if you got them for a good price.

Finally you need to check your basics, ammonia (should be zero), nitrites (should be zero) and nitrates (not more than 25ppm). Rays once they are stable in your tank are very hardy and can take poor water conditions if the conditions deteriorate slowly. However, when new rays are added, it creates a shock, especially if the new rays are previously raise in very good water conditions.

Hope the above helps.
