Default Silver Aro developing reddish sheen

Sorry ar.. i know i seebay noob with the fish from the lobby.

recently noticed the silver seem to have developing reddish color in the scales. confirm not water issue coz it's pretty much uniform.


Can i know if this is considered normal??

You may want to post some pictures for the AF experts to take a look.

I've never kept a silver aro. Found a reference to 'Red Spots' Disease on this thread. Does it fit the symptom?

(Ya rite.. one of the alphas liao still stress.. 1st to eat EVERYTIME)

Just find it interesting. Coz when it 1st came, the colour was pale and greenish sheen. Now developing to some reddish colour.

Btw - my tank is just.. black. and white lights from the hall/sun. no tanning etc etc etc in case some of u guys wondering.

Hi kenghua - nope, not red spots. The reddishness is too uniform.. is like pattern in the scales, much similar to the photo above

From what I've read and asked, MP only helps slightly to enhance the red, it's the shell of the MP that holds most of the coloring effect.

ya because they contain something called Astaxanthin which they get from their diet. this influences the colour to make them more pinkish / red.
