I had gone thru something similar initially. For me, I thought that it might be hard to up keep as all my tanks are more with pH on the neutral side. However, after trying two Tanga fishes, I gained confident and now I have a tank just for these guys. They are so colorful, don't need live feed and most of them don't get too large ... resisting is usually futile |

Do you mean Xenotilapia ochrogenys "Nyanza Lac" or Xenotilapia flavipinnis "Nyanza Lac" ?
