Hi bro, if you mix the sick fish with healthy ones, then that tank should not be called a quarantine tank anymore.

Brother, if you want cheap stuff, then you should not have too high expectations. Just move on from here. Even the most experience discus keepers have made mistakes. If you visit discus specialist shops, you will also find tanks of sick discus, this is part and parcel of discus keeping. In my opinion, if you do not want sick discus at home, then just buy one batch from the same source and stick to it till you do not want to keep discus anymore. Buying and mixing from various sources leaves your discus vulnerable to many illness.

Cheers and good luck.

Even if the fishes look seemingly healthy, still best to quarantine, they may carry some parasite that they themselves are immuned to, but not ur fishes. The same goes with adding in new pleco too. I had a similar encounter with adding new pleco w/o quarantine. Hv never needed to quarantine pleco b4, but only 1 bad incident is enough to scare me.

Mixing is not quarantine already. To he very strict, even fishes from the same breeder but from different tank should be quarantined separately.

I think spirit of sharing is important in fish hobbyist forum.

Personally i feel dishearten with this kind of quality discus circulated (Trade/giving) in fish hobbyist forum. What we all hope and wish, not only gaining knowledge from others, but also to promote discus keeping in fish forum. Like what i always said, the act of circulating low quality/ sick discus, in hobbyist forum, demoted/giving the bad impression to those started - discus is difficult to keep.

I noted your comments on info sharing while giving out FOC fishes, if I had opened up a separate thread to FOC the fishes, I would have specify....I admit I could have done better in this case and not think that he would definitely take it, but he had come my place, I would have asked him on the spot to decide.....also I am not a fan of culling fishes....so no matter what I will choose to FOC then cull the fishes.

However, to be accused of knowing and selling sick fish is something I can't accept....I will definitely specify any defect with the fishes I am sellling, e.g. cloudy eyes, white spot and even internal parasite (if I know they are not eating well)....so TS saying I am selling "so called healthy fishes" is really insulting to me.

Well, if you are really sincere about learning, let me give you a piece of advice.....don't buy too many fishes if you have insufficent tanks....you can't simply dump all your fishes (all kind of species) in 1 tank....I have read through your previous threads and found that you made some big mistakes in Discus/ fish keeping, I don't want to elaborate them, else you might think that I am making personal attacks on you....so I offer to make peace with you and we move on from here....of cos will be good if you can withdraw your comments that I am dishonest and selling sick fishes....if not...so be it

I have no idea what u read or how much u dig into it as for making mistakes. maybe you can highlight to me so as i wont make the mistake again.

I have made my point and those who have read the thread have their own mind and can decide for themselves. I dun think i have that much an influence.
