Default Care of aro when holidaying

Hi guys.

Newbie here.
Jus curious. Who takes care of ur aro if whole family is going for a long holiday?

For those who fed their aros pellet diet, can we rely on those timed dispenser?

What abt those who feeds on SW / MP...etc?

Was planning on getting a aro but wife was not very supportive as she doesn't wan to come home to a dead aro after holidaying.

Any advise or experience to share?

Thanks.

Will depends ur aro size...and ur holiday length days....

For small aro less 8" then best can someone feed.
For bigger aros like 12" above , they can easily dun feed for a mth

Before the trip....a week before I will heavy feed, pump up mass

When a week holiday I will off lights at most on a dim led
And just let the filter run. Stop feed 2 days before. And WC when on thef day I go
And no feed for the whole week while I away
Min poo and waste, keep water clean

second what vitor has stated.

i had tried before 1 week never feed him while i was on holiday... he was 6 inches that time.

depends on how long is your holiday and how big is the aro too.

normally from 6 inches to 10 inches, it will take abt 2-3 mths. after that, like vitor bro say, can starve for 1 mth.

aros can go for sometime without food. dont worry.

infact most fish can go sometime without food.. it is the overfeeding and bad water that kills most fishes

Hey all, thx for the input...

Does tankmate hv to be around the same size as aro to be "safe" from being eaten?
My plan is to setup a tank with aro, tin foil and maybe a birchir type fish.
if size difference is too big, will tankmates become feeder?

bro just make sure that you wc a day before your trip.

ensure that the aro tank is properly covered too

now, I do go overseas from time to time for official assignments and personal matters.

so far so good. even my ranchus are doing fine with my time of absence.

however, I do have a local housekeeper who comes in at least 3 times per week just to check or even to perform a minor wc but totally no feeding.

bro, just enjoy the holiday
