Marine parade is a mature estate, ruling party already planted the root very deep previously. The chances of opposition party to win is abit tough but honest speaking I still prefer Nicole Seah
Let see the end result on May 7 |

We must remind ourselves we are voting for the PARTY, NOT Candidate.
Meaning if in a single ward the MP dies, there will not be a re-election coz that party won the seat, not the candidate. The party simply gets another person to take over. Many people had the wrong impression that they are voting for the person. No No No...... vote wisely..... do not waste your vote by being neutral, that is not the right way to do..... if you like the current party, the current things are, then vote for the PAP. but if you are not happy or dissatisfied with the performance of the ruling party, then vote for the Opposition. DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE..... |

% of seats should be more significant. Last round, PAP won 66.6% of votes but dominated the parliament with 87% (82/94) of the seats. This round, I hope they get 51% of the seats. The others should be filled up by non PAP MPs.

so now, it is down to who wins?! even if they win 50.1%, they also win, they call the shots. they can have 99 PAP and 1 opposition. you LL also nothing to say. soccer, fight all throughout, than still 0-0 than go for golden goal, also same, than go for panelty, 5-4 at the final goal, u also LL have to give up the trophy to the winner..... so i'm not curious about how many in parliment at this stage, but how much will they win / loss by this time round ^_^" who to vote, i want to see the opposition in my GRC first than consider who to vote... ^_^ |

So, what we shd hope for is, more Opposition Seats! Like Dave put it too, 51% of total seats (elected seats, not NMP or NCMP but full fledge MPs) will send a very very clear signal to PAP as well as, having very hard brain storming in parliament in policy making than breeze thru without the people in mind. But dave, you said last round, PAP won 66.6% of votes but dominated the parliament with 87% (82/94) of the seats. I would calculate 82/84 or 97.6% as these are real seats. NCMP and NMPs are like calefare |
