My first catfish i had was a normal RTC and i kept it till 2.5' and passed on and i could handfeed, tickle his tummy and stroke his body

I still have his full skeleton and a head crest plate that measures 12"

that's really very long, guess you loved him a lot, wish he is in a better place.
