Default 2 Canister setup for 5x2x2 Aro Tank

Hi Folks,

Long Story
I applied for a 5x2x2 with sump setup with HDB. After a lot of ping ponging, i finally got a 5x2x2 with canister approval. HDB concern was that my sump was too heavy.

Now, I have to think of how i want to set up the flow in my "new" tank with 2 canister. I have selected to run 2 Eheim 2075 to achieve max flow rate. The problem that I have now is that i am not too sure which flow is better.

Should i go with

Option 1: The outlet are at either end of the tank; inlets are at the center of the tank. Each canister is independent.
OR
Option 2: Inlet and outlet are at the 2 ends of the tank, the canister are connected like parallel batteries.

For some reason, my picture is like not showing up on the link. Anyone can help?

Curious.. Any reason(s) for parallel set up?

Personally, would prefer to keep them independent. Touch wood, should one fail due to whatever reasons, still have one working.... Just my thoughts

You get one 2260 and outfit a multi tier ohf to the output can already....
Alternatively, get a iOS to filter out the dirt first, then 2260 to ohf.
Three layer filtration with just one power source.

Hi Paddy, I was thinking of minimising the number of pipes visible in the tank. Hence, the parallel connection.

I was trying to avoid OHF, don't like too may things on top of the tank. Anyway, what is a iOS?

AroChris, no mechanical filteration to remove waste before it goes to your 2260?

Hi, my 2260 only got marine pure ball and Mr aqua ceramic rings. My ohf handles most of the mechanical filtration. But if you want to have both in 2260 also can cause the 2260 come empty you can customize to your needs. Hope its helps

2 reasons bah.
1. Reading through the forum made me realise that tanks above 4 feet need permit, by right la
2. After calculation, i am also concern if my floor can hold 900kg. I always question that to my vendors, so cautious also
